Christmas.. urgh

Well it's that time of year... Christmas. I hate Christmas, or as my Dad told me, I hate the preparations for Christmas. Yeah that too, but those are the biggest part of Christmas right?

I hate black Friday, while Scott (the hubby)  loves it, he just likes getting a great deal. I get that, but to deal with people, tons of people who all act like assholes pushing and shoving to get a great deal.. is it really worth it?

I went with Scott to Walmart on Thanksgiving at 10pm to get an Xbox combo pack. Which when we went he didn't tell me what we were going for, but whatever I went with.

Let's see.. Parking.. well that was interesting. While waiting to get to the parking lot we got to witness a bunch of police running through the street to  catch someone in an alley. I don't think they actually did, they left really fast. Then we drove around the parking lot to find a spot.. found one, and as we were waiting for a car to leave we saw another car drive up.. Which of course when the car was leaving that car tried to steal our spot. Honestly, you see a car already waiting, why even bother..

Then we walked.. and walked to Walmart. I had on fancy boots so that was awful..

And the store, well you see the above picture that I found on google images.. yeah pretty much sums it up. Awful.

I have to say about people shopping on Black Friday, if your buying more than 2 Coffee Makers or 2 of anything, we know your trying to sell them somewhere else. No one needs to give out more than 2.. and if you really do.. you better hope that they don't all open it all at once or at the same place. That would suck.

Going to Walmart on Black Friday.. Bad idea..

Next year: Online Shopping. Which we generally do.

Moved.

So we moved over the holiday weekend. Which when thinking about moving you don't think so much about it, until you get started then you think to yourself a few things:

1. Who's bright idea was it to move? (in this case I guess it was mine)
2.  Where did all this crap come from
3. When does the stuff just magically get there..

I almost just said forget it, but Scott was just starting to take apart our bed. Good news is that we are done moving the big things, just have a few smaller things to move and move back to my parents house the things we don't need for right now.

So far so good living at my mother-in-laws. It's good to be married and have your own space. I loved living with my parents and will miss the food (which I'll probably be there a few times a week to do my walks, take care of my cat and eat the food) but have different spaces we can go in is going to be good.

One thing I have learned about my mother in law so far... she's always on the phone.

Well.. Moving Stinks

We're moving.. well to my mother in law's house. Which has more space for us than my parent's house, where we are right now. Actually it's a whole basement. So we have everything except for a kitchen sink and a oven. But those are upstairs..

What a fun weekend we had...

Friday we decided we wanted to get the head board for our bed we bought a few months ago. Well that meant a trip to Ikea.. and going to Ikea for us means buying more than what we planned on.. We found a lot of gifts for people for Christmas. Which was perfect. Then it was to find the headboard in their nifty find your furniture area. When we found it, well it wasn't going to fit in Scott's car.. so that meant we needed to come soon with a larger car..

My lovely rug..
On to Saturday, let's get the headboard and go.. well I wanted to get a rug since the floor in the basement has a few stains, and I like pretty things. So BAM! we have a rug, headboard, and a few pillows.. I love pillows. When all of this gets put together I'll set it up.

Then Saturday was moving everything around in the house. The downstairs bedroom had a lot of crap from his cousin, who is storing her stuff there. So we okay, they moved  and by they I mean Scott, his sister Kristie, and her Fiancee Chris moved a lot of it. Up and down the stairs and even had to go to their house to put some of the cousins things there.  They even managed to shove a twin bed into a small closet. I spent a lot of time cleaning, vacuuming and just being supportive of their moving abilities.  Scott also managed to patch up a lot of the holes in the walls and repaint some of of the area.

But boy were we tired from everything. My body ached a lot, I could only imagine how everyone else felt afterward. My body is still sore.

We are planning on going back to ikea to get a small dresser draw thing. Since our awesome bed has drawers under it we need somewhere to put our underthings. Who knows what else I'll find, that I didn't the first two times. Oh, I'm going to return something too.. since I already have one.. oops!

The plan.. to be out this weekend. While the crazies are out shopping, we will be moving stuff in. Scott is painting one of the rooms.. it was pink.. I hate pink.. sorry. and we have his TV wall mount up already. This is going to be an exciting new chapter of our life.

Oh, I bought a Christmas tree too.. so excited to have room to put that up..but that's another story.

Weddings Over..

About a month before the wedding I was ready to have it over and done with. Everything that you have to deal with from seating people to the moans and whines about things you planned. I wanted it over with.

Well it's over now. Nothing more to plan.  Am I happy? Yes, I never want to do that again. If anyone asked me for a word of advice about the whole wedding planning I would tell them that no matter how much you plan, you will always have unhappy people and people who don't listen to your wishes. Oh yeah, it's really not your day. It's everyone else's day to do what they want and get away with it. But they'll say it was your day so you can smile. Yes, smile.

I did have an amazing day, great weather, everything worked out great. Here and there were bad things, but over all it was awesome.

I do have to say one thing about wedding planning is that afterwards, you don't have anything to do really. So I took up scrapbooking and trying to find easy crafts to occupy me for now. Yes, I need a new job, with more hours, that is on my list of things to do. Also I need to blog more, again my list of things to do. But I had to fill that void so I started my honeymoon scrapbook. Also, started another blog with my sister, all about crafting! One post so far, actually I have to beg her to post something this week. So check it out: Crafty Sisters Blog

Pinky up my friends!
